The Beginning of a Journey

In 2013, DART received 540 applications. From these, we interviewed more than 200 candidates, ultimately hiring 7 candidates to become community organizers.  Those selected undergo rigorous training for four months through the DART Organizers Institute, and graduates are placed into salaried career positions with a local DART organization.

April 15, 2014:  The deadline to apply for the DART Organizers Institute

We encourage applicants to submit applications well before this deadline if possible, as it will shorten the amount of time needed to process your materials and ensure that you have your first choice of final interview weekend sites.

We encourage you to begin our four step application process now.

    1. Phone Interview

You will be contacted either by phone or email and informed if you have been selected for a phone interview with one of DART’s recruitment staff.

    1. Final Interview Event

Following the phone interview, top candidates will be selected to attend a final interview event. You will be notified within two weeks of your phone interview whether or not you’ve been invited to attend.

    1. Final Phone Interview and References

After the final interview weekend, candidates who are being seriously considered for hire will participate in a final phone conversation with Ben MacConnell, Director of Recruitment for the Organizers Institute. Also, references will be checked at this time. Candidates will know within two weeks of this interview if they have been selected for the DART Organizers Institute.
